Nancy Henderson

Nancy Henderson writes love stories where the past has muddy boots and the present smells like pine and woodsmoke.

She moves between two worlds on the page—colonial backcountry stories where women and Native American heroes navigate survival, loyalty, and impossible choices, and contemporary mountain romances where grumpy men in flannel would rather wrestle a chainsaw than talk about feelings (and usually lose to both). Her writing tends to come with a bit of chaos in the background: a small menagerie of animals, including a diva cavapoo named Ivy and a very opinionated senior golden retriever named Bel (short for Bel Air), who both firmly believe they are in charge. Occasionally, they even make cameo appearances in her books—usually without permission.

When she’s not writing, Nancy is negotiating peace treaties between fictional characters and real-life dog drama, or wondering how it is possible for one household to contain so much personality in four paws.

She believes love stories should feel a little wild, a little dangerous, and completely worth the risk.

She loves hearing from readers. You can write to her at: nancy@nancyhendersonwrites.com.
